Immersive Coding Education
For Women.

No Upfront Tuition Cost.

The next cohort starts June 5th, 2017 in New York City.

Our Mission
Accessible Tech Education for Women.
Let's Close the Gap.

The Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy is an immersive software engineering course for women with no upfront tuition cost.

You only pay tuition once you secure a job after graduating.

Our mission is to empower women in technology through affordable education, quality instruction, and individualized mentorship. We provide a world-class educational environment with an advanced curriculum developed and taught by experienced instructors. We'll also connect you with a support network of alumnae and mentors in the tech community.

Start Your Application

The Grace Hopper Program is a 17 week immersive course. The experience starts with a 4 week part-time portion, Foundations, which is completed remotely before coming to campus. That's followed by the full-time 13 week immersive, held on-campus in New York City. While on campus, students learn through a mix of lectures, hands-on workshops, projects, pair-programming, and more.

Admiral Hopper once said, “A ship in port is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. Sail out to sea and do new things.” Now there's nothing between you and an exciting career in technology.

The Problem
A Growing Gender Gap in Tech.

Diversity has continued to rise in the public consciousness as a key issue in the technology industry.

Many great engineering firms like Google, Facebook, Apple and Microsoft have released diversity data showing that women often represent less than 30% of their engineering workforce.

The problem is complex and requires a multi-faceted solution. No one effort will make the difference alone, but through The Grace Hopper Program, we are prepared and eager to be a large contributor toward gender equality in tech.

Our Principles
Three ideas that matter.

As and associated program of Fullstack Academy Grace Hopper utilizes the same world-class curriculum that's successfully trained hundreds of software engineers. The Grace Hopper Program has the same core curriculum, coaching practices and proven teaching methods to help students achieve amazing results.

By using a deferred tuition model, our goal is to directly align the success of the program with the success of our students. Furthermore, this system allows us to include qualified candidates who may not have otherwise attended due to upfront costs. If you want to pursue a fulfilling career in tech then we want to lower the barriers for entry.

Organizations - like Women Who Code, Girl Develop It, and more - have shown that mentorship and support are essential to a productive learning environment. Using the vast Fullstack Academy alumni network, we will continue this tradition by providing Grace Hopper students with personalized mentorship throughout their education and careers.

The Curriculum
An award winning curriculum
based on current tech trends

In Partnership with Fullstack Academy

Our educational program is identical to the curriculum taught at Fullstack Academy, an award-winning immersive programming school with an exceptional hiring rate for graduates. Our curriculum has been taught to hundreds of software developers who've gone on to amazing careers.

Fullstack JavaScript

JavaScript is a global language. Today the web is dominated by "Single Page Applications" or SPAs written in JavaScript using frameworks like Express.js, Backbone.js and React.js. Learning an in-demand language and set of frameworks will kickstart your career as a developer and keep you relevant in the job market.

Computer Science

A good developer understands the fundamentals of computer science. We cover the essentials of CS theory, building things like algorithms and data structures. We also take apart and rebuild many of the tools that we'll be using - build your own database, front-end and CSS frameworks.

Building a basic web application is actually relatively easy. Understanding what’s going on underneath the hood is much harder… We dive deep in different areas within programming and web development so you can really understand the code you’re writing.
