Description

Watch Kat Guthrie, a former classical opera and musical theater singer, give a short lecture about Sonic Pi, the app created for the Raspberry Pi computer (and also available for Mac) that lets you create electronic music through code. Kat takes you through the basics of writing notes with either note names or Hz, rests, chords, controlling duration through the use of envelopes, using synths and samples, and looping. Teaching examples have been taken from Sonic Pi's in-app Tutorial, and the final song Get Lucky by Daft Punk is provided by Sonic Pi: Live & Coding, a ground breaking digital research and development project.
